Anat Meshulam and Dor Chen (Holyland Civilians)
Fashion Design
“We did not build Holyland Civilians to escape reality. We built it to stay with it. We love this place. Not blindly. Not simply. But deeply. We love its language, its contradictions, its heat, its humor, its faith, its work. We love the way people get dressed here - practical and dramatic, protective and exposed. We design for them. For us"
Anat Meshulam and Dor Chen are senior fashion designers, co-founders, and creative directors of Holyland Civilians. Both graduated from the Fashion Design Department at Shenkar, and have been living and working together since 2010.
After years of working for other fashion labels, they founded Holyland Civilians in 2016. Their collections reflect the unique landscape and cultural layers of the place they inhabit, bringing together streetwear through a personal and contemporary lens.
Their work offers an intimate perspective on the Holy Land, shaped by everyday life, local realities, and the tension between the ordinary and the sacred.
Anat Meshulam and Dor Chen (Holyland Civilians) were nominated for the 2026 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Established Fashion Designers.
