Edmond de Rothschild Design Award (hereinafter referred to as the “website operator” or “we”) holds your privacy in high regard and is committed to safeguarding and protecting the information collected and held about you. The following Privacy Policy outlines how we collect information, the types of information gathered, how we use it, and how you, as the data subject, can review, update, or request its deletion.

The division of this Privacy Policy into sections and the titles of those sections are for convenience purposes only and shall not be used for interpretation purposes. All personal pronouns used in this agreement, whether used in the masculine, feminine, or neuter gender, shall include all other genders, and the singular shall include the plural and vice versa.

Terms not defined within this Privacy Policy shall be given the meaning ascribed to them in the website’s Terms of Use or in the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741 – 1981 (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Protection Law”).

• We will collect personal information about you or about third parties that you provide to us as part of an inquiry or contact with the website operator or within the framework of submitting an application for the ‘Edmond de Rothschild Design Award’ (hereinafter: “the award”), including name, phone number, email, contact details, portfolio, resume, scanned ID, personal statement of intent, and more.
• You have no legal obligation to provide your information, and you provide it to the website operator voluntarily and with your consent. By providing us with personal information about third parties, you declare that you have all the legal permissions and/or have obtained their consent on all matters related to sharing this personal information with us, for the purposes outlined in this privacy policy. If necessary, you will make these third parties aware of the provisions of this privacy policy. We are not responsible for any lack of consent, unauthorized disclosure, or any other actions related to the collection and processing of information about them by the website operator.

Personal information we may process about you: 

• When you use our website and services, the data and information we collect about you (for example, actions you’ve taken or instructions you’ve provided) may be processed, both manually and through automated computational tools, to derive insights that will allow us to improve our services, tailor them to your activities, and more.

• In the context of evaluating your candidacy for the award and/or operating the award distribution process; 
• When essential for the operational integrity of the website and the delivery of services and content, inclusive of third-party communication providers and data storage companies;
• To protect our rights and fulfill any legal obligations imposed upon us;
• Sharing information with communication providers and advertisers, in accordance with and subject to legal requirements;
• If required to do so by a court order, demand from an authorized authority, or by law;
• Upon receiving notice to initiate legal proceedings against us regarding actions taken by you, or in any dispute, claim, demand, or legal proceedings, if any, between you and the website operator or its representatives;
• As part of a change in the organizational and operational structure of the website operator (including situations where the website operator organizes its activities within another entity, such as through a merger with another organization) – we may transfer your personal information or any other collected information about you to the other entity, provided that the receiving entity agrees to abide by the terms of this privacy policy concerning you;

You agree that the website operator may, at its discretion, transfer information about you outside the borders of Israel, even if the law of the country to which the information is transferred and/or stored provides a different level of protection than that afforded by Israeli law.

The website operator may send you advertisements, promotions, discounts, updates, innovations, and the like (collectively: “promotional marketing”) from time to time, including, among other methods, via email or SMS, in accordance with Section 30a(c) of the Communications Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting), 5742-1982. This promotional marketing may include products and services of the website operator and/or the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation or products and services of third parties such as business partners of the website operator.

If you do not wish to receive communications through promotional marketing, you may at any time notify the website operator according to the contact details provided in this policy or as indicated in the communication itself, at your discretion. Please note that the website operator may send you Marketing Communication based on the processed and characterized personal information provided by you and/or information about your activity on the site and/or aggregated information in the website operator’s systems, in order to offer you various products or services that may be of interest to you.

The website operator and/or its representatives utilize files known as cookies, pixels, or other software tools (hereinafter: “Cookies”) sourced from third parties, in accordance with the terms of use and privacy policies of those third parties. Right to Access Information 

According to the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, every individual has the right to access, either personally or through an authorized representative in writing or by a guardian, information held about them in an information database. If an individual reviews their information and finds it to be incorrect, incomplete, unclear, or outdated, they are entitled to request that the database owner correct or delete the information. If the database owner refuses, they must notify the requester in the manner and form stipulated in the regulations. Upon the refusal of the database owner to allow access or upon notifying refusal to correct or delete information, the information requester has the right to appeal in the manner and form prescribed in the regulations.

You should be aware that absolute information security cannot be guaranteed, and security breaches and website intrusions may occur.
