Yarden Hanuka (JOR-D)
Fashion Design
I do not design based on fleeting trends, but rather as a visual response to local and global realities. The ability to take a complex, painful, or personal theme and transform it into a visual language that anyone can resonate with, much like a powerful song that makes the listener feel it was written specifically for them, is at the heart of my practice״
Yarden Hanuka is a fashion designer and the creative force behind JOR-D, an independent brand founded after graduating from Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art. Each of Hanuka’s collections begins from an inner point, a kind of “gut feeling” seeking expression. For her, clothing serves as a tool for translating emotion, experience, and narrative into a physical form that can be worn. Her work moves between the personal and the collective, exploring how fashion can function as a visual language that responds to both local and global realities. At the heart of her practice is the ambition to articulate a new “Israeli language” in fashion — a contemporary, exposed, and courageous voice that connects the local with the universal while continuously shaping a distinct and evolving fashion identity.
For Hanuka, the design experience does not end with the garment itself, but extends into the realms of art, video, and sound, creating a cohesive and immersive visual language. This approach allows her to move between conceptual collections presented at Tel Aviv Fashion Week and projects that translate values, ideas, and identities into complete visual worlds.
Yarden Hanuka (JOR-D) was nominated for the 2026 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Emerging Fashion Designers.
