“I am interested in garments not only as form or function, but as actions that activate relationships, responses, and interactions between people. Humor, as it appears in my designs, often serves as a surface through which suppressed feelings of loneliness are expressed. These emotions resonate with many from my generation, who grew up alongside social media platforms that reshaped models of social and romantic relationships by replacing sex with sexting and love with likes”
Fashion designer Tal Maslavi founded his independent fashion brand in 2024. His practice explores the relationship between material and body, with a particular focus on the male body and questions of identity, intimacy, desire, and vulnerability. Through an experimental approach, he works with unconventional materials and processes to create wearable objects and accessories.
His work draws on youth culture and popular visual languages, often integrating humorous, provocative, or unsettling elements. These references are balanced by a refined material execution, creating a tension between the familiar and the uncomfortable, the playful and the critical.
