Shira Keret and Itay Laniado

Product & Object Design

“The objects born here—huge treasure maps, spread out on tables, on shelves, on floors. Sometimes they meet, chat, mingle. Each object has a language, reference points, a specific internal logic and code of conduct. And the paths to them, as to a secret code, are laden with failures, clues, and successes.”
The Laniado – Keret studio was founded by designers Shira Keret and Itay Laniado, both graduates of the Industrial Design department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. They share a studio, a family, and a common mindset. They create objects, curate exhibitions, research and develop. Their works include products and objects of an experimental nature and exceptional aesthetics, with surprising combinations of materials and technologies. The two research, create, write and breathe design in carefully chosen and diverse ways. They observe and ask questions about the origin of things, and about the additional meanings and contexts to which they relate.

Shira Keret and Itay Laniado were granted an honorable mention for the 2021 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Emerging Product Designers.
