Ron Ferencz

Product Design

“The way I approach the product I am about to design is a type of a sculptural process. Rather than a chisel, I use the computer, but the principle remains the same. The main challenge for industrial designers, in my opinion, is to avoid having our tools and software dictate the design work and the designer’s perceptions, limiting our styling abilities, instead of the other way around”.

Industrial designer Ron Ferencz is a graduate of the Industrial Design department at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art and a lecturer of inclusive design at Hadassah Academic College. The majority of his works are varied and spread across the fields of medicine, security, and various consumer products—from children’s scooters, riding headphones, to a medical robot for eye surgery.

Ferencz was nominated for the 2021 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Emerging Product Designers.
