Nawal Arafat
Visual Communication
"Through my work, and specifically through constant weavings of cultural layers, which forms a prominent feature of my work, I undertake a significant part in designing the identity of the place we live in. Words are the starting point for each of my projects. I search for the multiple meanings they might carry and their implementation in a text. Through a multi-layered design process on the text, I tell a story, endow interpretation, and trace how visitors and spectators might read.”
