Lior Munitz
Product & Object Design
“In product design, I see a wonderful intersection in which art meets science. Every project is an opportunity to learn and be exposed to new topics, and the more you learn, the more curious you become.”
A graduate of the Bezalel Department of Industrial Design, Lior Munitz is currently a lecturer at Shenkar’s Department of Industrial Design. He owns an independent design studio that works in the field of the defense industry. He views each project as an opportunity to learn and expose oneself to new areas. Industrial design occurs in an engineering environment, where the difference between the roles of engineer and designer blur. This begs the question of what makes the designer unique? Who is a good designer?
Munitz believes that the objects around us have a huge impact on us, our feelings, our thoughts, and our behavior. A good designer is one who knows how to give expression to all the user’s needs—both functional and emotional.
Munitz was nominated for the 2021 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Emerging Product Designers.
