Lilach Eliyahu (TABU)

Fashion Design

״I do not see sustainability as an alternative to fashion, I see it as its necessary evolution. My goal is to design pieces that people choose to keep, to treasure, and to carry forward.Through my work, I aim to redefine value in fashion, not through excess, but through meaning. Rather than participating in fashion’s linear model of produce-consume-discard, TABU proposes a circular dialogue between past and present, memory and innovation״

Lilach Eliyahu is a fashion designer, educator, and researcher with over 15 years of international experience in womenswear design, textile development, and garment construction. She combines senior-level industry practice with academic teaching and an independent, research-led practice focused on process, material reuse, and sustainable methodologies.
In 2023, she founded TABU as a response to overproduction, creating a space where sustainability sits at the core of her creative practice. TABU reworks vintage garments and nostalgic elements into contemporary pieces with renewed relevance, bridging past and present while challenging the culture of disposability.

Lilach Eliyahu (TABU) was nominated for the Edmond de Rothschild Design Award 2026 for Established Fashion Designers.
