Ariel Bassan

Textile,Fashion & Jewerly Design

Fashion designer Ariel Bassan, a graduate of Holon Institute of Technology (interior design) and Parsons School of Design, New York, founded his eponymous menswear brand in 2015. His designs offer a minimalist, modern, subtle and nuanced interpretation of traditional tailoring, a clean and meticulous look based on high quality garments available as ready to wear, upcycled or made to order items.
At the core of Bassan’s design work is the classic male wardrobe. Textile choices, basic cuts, and tailoring are all inspired by historical elegant menswear designs. By reexamining and expanding the boundaries of the male wardrobe Bassan crafts a contemporary take on classic men’s couture, blurring conventional gender-based dress distinctions. The garments he designs occupy the liminal space between masculine and feminine, the conceptual and the wearable, the classic and the modern. He believes in delicacy and subtlety, in using small gestures to create a powerful effect.
Bassan was nominated for the 2022 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for for Emerging Fashion, Textile, and Jewelry Designers.
