Tamara Anna Efrat

Product Design

“I approach craft as a living system of knowledge - an embodied form of know-how transmitted across generations, rooted in material intimacy, communal labor and cultural continuity. In the face of accelerated production and ephemeral consumption, I advocate for the preservation and transformation of craft as a critical site of resistance and renewal”

Tamara Anna Efrat is a product designer exploring the intersection of traditional craftsmanship and advanced technologies. A graduate of Shenkar’s Department of Fashion Design and holding a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from Bezalel, she believes in the power of collaboration between designers, scientists, engineers, and artists. Through hybrid processes that combine computational design, digital fabrication, and experimental making, Efrat creates emotionally resonant objects that carry narratives of context and identity. Alongside her studio practice, she leads product development processes for startups and teaches in academia, driven by a vision to cultivate a responsible, thoughtful, and grounded design culture.

The Baroness Ariane de Rothschild and the Edmond de Rothschild Design Award Committee would like to grant a special mention to Tamara Anna Efrat, for an original visual and conceptual approach to design, combining traditional craft with cutting-edge technology.
