Prof. Chanan DeLange

Product Design

"My personal work focuses especially on the human condition, the objects surrounding them, and the space that envelops them. Personal relationships, struggles, successes, failures, and everyday life serve as the starting point for every project. Each exhibition touches on a human theme, centered around one main idea, where through the design of space, lighting, and various objects, answers were presented and new questions raised. Simply put, working in product design and free design mostly begins from the personal - but always aims to open a broader space for discussion"

Prof. Chanan DeLange is a designer and senior lecturer who has been working for four decades at the intersection of personal and public design, and between object and space. He is a graduate of the Department of Industrial Design at Bezalel, where he has been continuously teaching since 1988, leading various studio courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. Over the years, he has focused his work on designing exhibitions and large-scale public museum spaces, created in the studio he shares with architect Tal DeLenge. His work draws inspiration from everyday life - from people, the objects around them, and the spaces they inhabit.

Prof. Chanan DeLange was nominated for the 2025 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Established Product Designer.
