Dorit Provizor

Product Design

“Although my work often involves natural materials and manual processes, it is rooted in the methods of industrial design. I work in a structured and repeatable way - developing systems for clay mixing, surface testing, and color mapping. I approach each project through design thinking: defining parameters, iterating through material and form, and creating outcomes that can be scaled or adapted, while preserving their uniqueness”

Dorit Provizor is a product designer and ceramicist, a graduate of and lecturer at the Industrial Design Department at HIT. Her work is grounded in material research, with a focus on natural clay colors. She creates ceramic and pigment blends from raw earth, exploring how physical material can carry cultural, environmental, and visual meaning - without the need for ornamentation or added layers. Through her ongoing engagement with clay - both as a material and a message - she creates objects that draw their strength from their place of origin, rooted in process and driven by the internal logic of the material.

Dorit Provizor was nominated for the 2025 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Emerging Product Designer.
