“Trained as an architect, my work is often positioned at the intersection of several design fields -objects, architecture, interiors, installation art, and speculative design. Objects and furniture,however, are a common thread across the projects. I believe that my furniture will be better because I also design buildings, and my buildings will be better because I also design furniture”
Assaf Kimmel’s works center on ideas of flexibility, movement and adaptation. An architect and graduate of the AA School of Architecture School in London, he is interested in the ways objects shift and transform within public and private spaces. Across his diverse portfolio - spanning furniture, objects, installations, and architecture - he strives to create interaction and dialogue, rather than static presence.
Assaf Kimmel was nominated for the 2025 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Emerging Product Designer.
