Guy Saggee

Visual Communication Design
Award for a senior designer

“I believe in the power of a story and a narrative at the core of the design process, which awaits discovery and deciphering by the viewer. And even more I believe in the power of words; in the incarnation of letters into words, words into sentences, and in the transformation from language and idea to objects of design.”
Born in 1968, Gui Saggee is an independent graphic designer, senior lecturer and faculty member at the department of Visual Communication at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. He holds a bachelor’s degree in visual communication form Bezalel (1994) and a master’s degree in illustration from the School of Visual Arts, New York.
Saggee’s long career, spanning 25 years, included local and international exhibitions, numerous publications, conference speaking, and awards. The projects he selects are intentionally diverse and varied, so as to challenge his mindset and find new alternatives and solutions each time. Saggee defines his work as a multidimensional practice.

Saggee is a recipient of the 2020 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Senior Visual Communication Designers.
