Tamara Efrat
Textile, Fashion & Jewerly Design
“For me, the textile object is a document chronicling human work over time. It holds material traditions, patterns of use, and cultural histories, and also projects the spirit of its time and emerging future technologies. I believe that in an industrialized world, saturated with mass-produced items, there is a longing for manual, personal work that carries a story, a point of view, and traces of a work process within.".
Textile designer Tamara Anna Efrat is a graduate of the Fashion Design department at Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art, holds an M.Des degree in Industrial Design and Technology from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design (with distinction). She is a design lecturer at Shenkar’s Textile Design department and at NB Haifa School of Design, and owner of the independent Tamara Anna Efrat Design Studio.
Efrat was nominated for the 2022 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Emerging Fashion, Textile, and Jewelry Designers.
