Gal Bulka
Product & Object Design
“Design to me is context. It is the understanding that a product lives in a particular context, whether commercial or conceptual, whether subject to trends or a longer time frame, to usability, an idea, to the screen, and so on. Thus, the designer, as the one who pulls the strings, must realize whether he is acting within this contextual environment or is challenging it".
Independent designer Gal Bulka is a graduate of the Bezalel Department of Industrial Design and the Product Design department at ECAL, Switzerland. He is a firm believer in design’s power to advance and improve the world, both conceptually and practically. Bulka's works include lighting fixtures, furniture items, and various consumer products with game characteristics—expressing the search for form and archetypal research and a reconsideration of conventions, which is often manifested in the connection between them.
Bulka was nominated for of the 2021 Edmond de Rothschild Design Award for Emerging Product Designers.
